Fun facts: The botanical name ‘mentha’, originates from Greek mythology. Pluto, the god of the dead, fell in love with Menthe, a beautiful nymph. Pluto’s goddess-wife Persephone became jealous and changed Menthe into a plant. Pluto couldn’t bring her back to life, so he gave her plant a fragrant smell.
